Privacy Policy
ALM Technology Solutions Ltd. ("ALM") respects the privacy of people who visit www.almtech.ca and use our services. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. ALM is an Ontario corporation and follows Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy law.
1. Information We Collect
- Contact form — your name, email, phone (if you give it), and message. This is handled by Formspree, Inc. and emailed to us, and we use it only to reply to you.
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (delivered via Cloudflare Zaraz) and Cloudflare Web Analytics collect usage data such as pages viewed, referral source, browser, device, and approximate location. It is aggregated and pseudonymized; we do not use it to identify you.
- Spam protection — our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks browser and activity signals to block spam. This is processed by Cloudflare, Inc. under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Hosting — the Site runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare logs standard request data (IP address, timestamp, URL) for security and performance, under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Embedded map — our contact page embeds Google Maps. Loading the map sends your IP address to Google and may set Google cookies, under Google's Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To reply to inquiries sent through our contact form
- To understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it
- To protect the Site from spam and abuse
- To meet our legal obligations
We use your contact details only to respond to you — we don't add you to a mailing list or send marketing email.
3. Consent
Submitting the contact form is your consent for us to use that information to respond to you. Using the Site means you consent to the analytics and spam protection described above. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Your Rights Under PIPEDA), subject to legal or contractual limits. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share personal information only with these providers, solely for the purposes above:
- Formspree, Inc. — processes contact form submissions
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, analytics, and spam protection
- Google LLC — analytics and the embedded map on our contact page
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Sites we link to (such as the social profiles in our footer) and embedded third-party content have their own privacy policies, which we don't control.
5. International Data Transfers
These providers may process your information in the United States or other countries, where it is subject to those countries' laws, including lawful access by their courts and governments. We use established providers that commit to appropriate safeguards for personal information. Contact us for more detail on where data is processed and how it is protected.
6. Data Retention
Contact messages are kept in our email and on the Formspree platform (under Formspree's retention) only as long as needed to handle your inquiry, then deleted. Analytics data is kept in aggregated, non-identifying form according to each provider's policy.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
We don't set any cookies ourselves. Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. Google Analytics, Cloudflare, and the embedded Google Map may set their own cookies under their respective policies.
8. Your Rights Under PIPEDA
You may:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Withdraw consent for our collection, use, or disclosure of your information, subject to legal or contractual limits
- Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your privacy rights have been violated
To exercise these rights, email privacy@almtech.ca.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, and all Site traffic is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.
10. Children's Privacy
Our site and services aren't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect children's personal information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new revision date.
